What This Programme Offers
For students who study in English — whether at international schools, returning from abroad, or simply most comfortable in an English-speaking environment — this programme offers the full depth of cello instruction conducted entirely in English, without compromise on musical rigour or artistic development.
Every lesson is taught in fluent, natural English by the director herself — a graduate of the Royal College of Music Stockholm and Hanns Eisler Berlin with years of international teaching experience. Students receive the same meticulous technical training, musical interpretation, and artistic guidance as all IJ Nordic programmes, in the language they feel most at home with.
All instruction, feedback, and musical discussion take place in English — ideal for students at international schools, bilingual families, or those preparing for conservatory auditions in English-speaking countries.
Unlike the multi-instrument programmes, this is a cello-specialised track. Every exercise, repertoire choice, and technical goal is tailored specifically to the unique demands of the cello and the individual student.
For students considering auditions at international conservatories or pre-college programmes in Europe, the UK, or the United States — the director's own international training and fluency in English inform every aspect of the preparation.
All parent consultations, progress reports, and written communication are provided in English, ensuring full understanding and meaningful partnership in the student's musical development.
The IJ Nordic Approach
This programme applies the same IJ Nordic philosophy — blending rigorous conservatory technique with the warmth and emotional intelligence of Nordic pedagogy — delivered entirely in English. The director's international background means students benefit from a truly global musical perspective, right here in Seoul.
“Language should never be a barrier to great musical teaching. Here, it becomes part of the artistry.”
— Isabella Jee, Director
