What This Program Offers
Before notes are read and scales are practised, there is something far more essential: the ability to truly listen. Little Listeners is designed to awaken this gift in the very youngest children — creating a foundation of joy, curiosity, and musical sensitivity that will last a lifetime.
Through carefully structured play, movement, and guided listening, children in this program discover music as a living language — one they can feel, respond to, and begin to speak. Every session is gentle, joyful, and grounded in the belief that musical intelligence begins with the ear.
Children learn to distinguish pitch, dynamics, tempo, and timbre through games, songs, and storytelling — all in a natural, pressure-free environment.
The body is the first instrument. Through clapping, stepping, swaying, and responding to music physically, children internalise rhythmic patterns at a deep level.
Short, carefully chosen pieces from the great composers are woven into each session — building familiarity, taste, and a natural love for classical music.
While all individual programmes are 1:1, this programme also offers small group options for 2–4 children, creating a social and playful musical environment.
The IJ Nordic Approach
This programme draws from the Dalcroze method, Kodály principles, and Nordic early childhood philosophy — combined with the director's own training at the Royal College of Music Stockholm and Hanns Eisler Berlin. The result is a uniquely refined yet warmly accessible programme for the very youngest learners.
“Music education is not about producing musicians — it is about producing full human beings.”
— Isabella Jee, Director
