What This Program Offers
For students who are ready to go deeper. Young Artists is where technique becomes artistry, where practice becomes purpose — and where a child's musical voice begins to emerge as something genuinely their own.
This is the most rigorous and rewarding phase of early music education. Students at this level are no longer merely learning an instrument — they are learning to communicate through it. Every lesson is a dialogue between discipline and creativity, precision and expression.
Intensive work on bow technique, shifting, vibrato, and advanced fingering — tailored to each student's instrument and level, progressing at the pace that is right for them.
Students learn to read beyond the notes — understanding phrasing, dynamics, historical context, and the emotional intention behind each work they study.
From small studio performances to competition and audition preparation, students develop stage confidence, mental resilience, and the ability to perform at their best under pressure.
For families considering auditions for specialist schools, conservatories, or international programmes, the director provides experienced and personalised guidance at every step.
Preparation Pathways
The Young Artists programme is designed not only to develop musical excellence — but to open real doors. The director has extensive experience guiding students toward the following pathways:
Yewon · sunhwa · Kaywon
Preparation for auditions to Korea's leading arts middle schools, including Yewon School — the director's own alma mater. Repertoire selection, technique refinement, and full audition simulation are included.
Seoul Arts High · SUNHWA · KAYWON
Specialised preparation for arts high school entrance examinations and auditions. Students are guided through the full process — from programme selection to mock auditions and performance review.
Europe · USA · Asia
For students aiming for international conservatory programmes or pre-college divisions at institutions in Germany, Sweden, the UK, or the United States. The director's own international training informs every aspect of this preparation.
The IJ Nordic Approach
At this level, the IJ Nordic approach brings together the rigour of traditional conservatory training with the emotional intelligence of Nordic pedagogy. Students are challenged to grow — but never pushed beyond what is meaningful and sustainable. The result is young musicians who love what they do.
“A student who practises from joy will always outgrow one who practises from obligation.”
— Isabella Jee, Director
